Contrada Favara: Thick layer of calcareous shingle within a calcareous groundmass - loam resting on clay and calcareous marl due to the Tellaro river. Contrada Buonivini: Calcareous soil with fine texture with clay and calcareous fractions.

Contrada Favara – Biduri, planted in 1992, 1,50 hectares (vertical trellis); - Contrada Buonivini planted in 1968, 1,80 hectares (Pantelleria style free standing bush).
